Outreach
Public and professional outreach is a core element of my research program. Conservation and managing wildlife interactions are only effective when the information learned is shared and discussed with stakeholders. This can range from members of the public with an interest in the outcomes of actions, to interacting and collaborating with biologists in species range states. I am especially proud of my collaborations with state agencies, and my involvement with the IUCN as a member of the Pangolin Specialist Group and the co-Chair of the Asian Bear Monitoring Expert Team and Deputy co-Chair of the Bear Specialist Group. I also serve on the Steering Committee for the Eastern Black Bear Workshop and as Chair-Elect of the Wildlife Damage Management Working Group for The Wildlife Society.
